Write Well began in 2011, when Gulzar Jamalbhai Deraiya was running a wholesale and retail food business alongside a notebook and print-packaging operation. Working closely with food-industry packaging clients gave him the idea to launch a food brand of his own rather than just packaging for others.

Writewell was officially established in 2016, and within a couple of years its products — including coconut water powder and mango milkshake mixes — were reaching most states in India. For its first few years, Writewell manufactured and packaged a broad range of food products rather than specializing.

In 2022, the company shifted its base from Bhavnagar to Surat and narrowed its focus entirely to coconut water — packaged coconut water, concentrate, powder, and specialty products like nata de coco and pink coconut water. The Surat operation initially ran out of a rented facility for two years, during which Writewell partnered with established exporters and also began exporting directly.

Writewell built its own manufacturing facility in Olpad, Surat. We built it around low-heat processing, dehydration, and the documentation infrastructure international buyers actually need: COAs, MSDS, traceability records, and export-ready paperwork. Over the past three years, the company has manufactured, exported, co-packed, and white-labeled for brands that have gone on to establish a strong market presence — with an average annual turnover above ₹12 crore.
